About Burger Wisconsin
The first Burger Wisconsin store opened its doors in the Wellington suburb of Wadestown in 1989.
It was the original NZ gourmet burger store and introduced combinations such as Avocado & Bacon and Camembert & Cranberry to the New Zealand takeaway market. We have been a proudly NZ owned and operated franchise since then, and have grown to 24 stores across the country.
While we’re NZ owned, leading the way for delicious healthy food in the burger market, we pay tribute to the history of great burgers through our name Burger Wisconsin, which reflects Wisconsin, USA’s title ‘Home of the Hamburger’.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Appalling service. Food is only average at best and they need to learn to acknowledge, not ignore, their customers. If they made the best burger around I still wouldn't return. They don't, and I won't. Zero stars if I could.

Have gone there over the years (as my kids love burgers and was for a while the only alternative to McD) but can honestly say the experience overall has been patchy. Yes the place does look a bit grubby and gloves seem to be optional. The main issue is the uneven cooking of the burgers (the meat pattie in our last order was still bright pink inside) and the mixing up of orders - I started checking our order before I left the place. I don't blame the staff, they try their best, but quality control is definitely lacking here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ordered burgers in lettuce wraps & a sugar free cola. Received burgers in buns and a full sugar cola - the meat Pattie’s were dry and the whole burger was average. Wouldn’t order from ever again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ After having burgers from this restaurant every month, and loving them. Tonight was frigin terrible. Husband gets the spicy satay chicken every time. Tonight he took one bite, straight to bathroom. Being violently sick. Called the restaurant straight away to let them know the spices in the satay was way too hot, mainly to ensure other customers weren't getting the same. I tried it too, and I like hot, this was another level! Response- we don't know your husband's tolerance to spices. Ffs. I do and he's now skulling milk from the fridge. Tried to help them, then the manager said he tried the sauce (apparently).... basically told we were liars. You've lost a very regular customer from your inability to make things right and lack of compassion... husbands still struggling, and refuses to shop there ever again. Terrible service. ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ After struggling to find a gluten free take-away option I liked the look of, I stumbled on this place. Yes, it does not look the greatest (Could do with a paint, and better signage) but the three team members working were very friendly, all wore gloves and food was handled well! I ordered a gluten free bun naked chicken burger and kumera fries. (Can have gluten but too much causes inflamation so playing it safe-ish!) Fries I would order again on their own! They were hot and tasty! Burger was good too, not huge but perfect for me. Not too spicy but a good kick. Well done team!
