The idea for Carl’s Jr. came to life over 70 years ago in the glory days of the burger in the USA when diners and drive-ins ruled. This was America just after the war. Hopes and hairdos were high, and life was simple. No cappuccinos and definitely no tofu – just burgers and fries.
And Carl Karcher was following his American dream to make the best burgers on the planet by making them bigger and tastier than ever before. He wanted to use the best of everything, the crispiest lettuce, the freshest buns, the juiciest tomatoes – all stacked up good and proud so you’d eat it up with your eyes before it ever got close to your face.
We’ve made sure every burger has been big on that Carl’s Jr. taste and big on quality ever since. No short-cuts. No compromises. It’s always been about the food at Carl’s. They may not make them like they used to. But we do.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Carl's ijr s clean and has friendly staff. I hadn't been for a while and you still cant have a hot drink because the machine is still broken so we had nice lime milkshakes instead. We both ordered the Carl's catch, ie fishburgers, and without a doubt they were the worst fishburgers we've ever had. The photo on the menu shows a nice fishpiece larger than the buns. But what we got was 2 very small triangles of tough tasteless fish.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The meal was nice but I ordered and paid for a Chicken swiss cheese meal and got given a Chicken burger meal. As I was heading back to Taupo I did not bring the incorrect meal back.
I bit disapointed.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Haven't been to Carl's Jr in a while and was very disappointed ?. Burgers half the size, as were the chips. Patty not the meaty patty I remember. Very ho hum. I may as well save some $ and go to Burger King for similar quality.

I understand they may have been run off their feet as I was the only customer in the entire store. So I left and went and got Turkish food, which was fantastic ? If I could give 0 stars I would

The service was appalling, the worker behind the counter was much more interested in what was on her phone then actually serving people.
Won't be back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The wife and I went here on Sunday 2nd January 2022. We heard about the Hawaiian burgers, Chicken and Beef. We got one of each, single. Got them as a meal deal. We got a plastic knife and cut them in half. We both wanted to try each one. And boy we loved them both. We will be going back to enjoy them again. Give them a go you will enjoy them.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It was ok. My ranch chips came to me luke warm. I took them back and they did replace them with fresh hot ones, so that was good. The lady's were nice but they didn't look happy. I felt sorry for them?
