About Clarence Bistro Restaurant
Italian and Kiwi couple Noel and Kim Cimadon brought Europe back with them when they returned to New Zealand. The result is The Clarence Hospitality Group, made up of Clarence Tauranga in the city centre, Alpino in the Mount and Picnicka at 38 Elizabeth. Kim put her decades of experience in fashion and design into the décor of each place. Meanwhile Noel brought his Italian passion for food and wine, along with the fine dining management experience he had gained throughout Europe.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful experience, we had a large group booking for my birthday, and although there was a slight mixup due to another party thinking they were our booking, they were incredibly apologetic and compensated us well for the slight delay. Food was absolutely incredible and the service outstanding. We had a long celebratory dinner and didn't feel rushed at all. The old post office is a beautiful building, we sat outside in the pavilion which has warm from the fire and great atmosphere. Will definitely be back. Thanks for a magical night!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I came here as a group for dinner. The restaurant was surprisingly busy on a Wednesday night. We all had the set menu, which has 3 choices per entree, main and dessert. The service was attentive, the dishes were well-presented. My entree (kingfish) and main (lamb) were delicious. The kingfish was fresh and light. The lamb was more decadent, with the parmesan flakes complement the dish perfectly. The final course (cheese) was not what I had expected. My friend chose the chocolate dessert, which was deliciously rich and indulgent. I regret choosing the cheese, which was simultaneously unusual and bland.
