About Bar Centrale
Italian and Kiwi couple Noel and Kim Cimadon brought Europe back with them when they returned to New Zealand. The result is The Clarence Hospitality Group, made up of Clarence Tauranga in the city centre, Alpino in the Mount and Picnicka at 38 Elizabeth. Kim put her decades of experience in fashion and design into the décor of each place. Meanwhile Noel brought his Italian passion for food and wine, along with the fine dining management experience he had gained throughout Europe.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went for dinner on Monday and found the staff to be absolutely amazing in everyway. The ambiance was awesome, the staff friendly and professional, and the food was devine! A true authentic Italian experience which drew us back for lunch and dinner the following day. Can't wait to come back when next in Tauranga. Absolutely a must for those who enjoy the best of everything!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not great. Over confident wait staff that didn't deliver on actual service. Explained to both waiters to check if the cocktail and pizza my friend ordered needed to be nut and fish free. She bit into her pizza and found a big anchovy on it. Lucky she spat it out in time. Waitress didn't offer concern or apology about the mistake. The Manager handled it well though and discounted our bill and gave us an sincere apology.

Yes, we asked them to accommodate us, talking through what my parents could eat from the menu. And as my mother was leaving the manager woman told my mother off that cold air would be coming in. You are a restaurant in Tauranga!! Read the room! You are too big for your boots. I've eaten internationally and you are distinctly average. You are not that fancy. We paid you hundreds of dollars for your management's bad attitude.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Love it here! Our go-to place for great cocktails and food. Good ambiance, a lot of drinks selection to choose from, comfortable seating, opens everyday and even for breakfast! Will definitely keep coming back even for just some casual drinks with friends.
