★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very easy but a little bit slippery when it’s raining. Although it’s an easy walk but I would prefer not to wear your clean (bright) shoes ? to protect them from the muddy surfaces.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fantastic walk. Bit of a climb each way but well worth it for the views along the way and the final destination. Lots of native fauna in the bush and plenty of history at the cove. Should be on all kiwis bucket lists.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great hike up and a over a steepish hill to Cook's Cove.
Track is in good condition, so trainers are sufficient, but exposure to strong winds can make it chilly: take a warm layer.
Fantastic views from high vantage points, and then dropping down through the bush into the cove.
Took us about an hour walking there and back. Nice place for a picnic lunch if you find somewhere sheltered.
Oddly a toilet is available at the Cove end, not in the carpark.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good 2 hour out and back walk for the family. The path is muddy in places after recent storms, but passable with good footwear. Plenty of steps up and down to entertain the young ones. Explore the local history.
