As usually, also in this DOC VC you get all the info for your hikes, can buy some usefull equipment and fancy souveniers. Good starting point for all the hikes and walks around. There are several near camp grounds as well. A side note: choose the Billygoat track when climbing to Pinnacles. It is nicer, more remote and wilder.

Ladies were Super helpful in directing me where to start the pinnacles! Even though I'm not a hiker they gave some advice and ensured we cleaned our boots to protect the Native wild life

Great place for information on the areas history, nature and walks. Nearby there's a model dam and a treasure trail on the walk where you can test your knowledge and learn cool new facts about NZ's wildlife! Pick up a quiz sheet and return for answers at the visitor centre. Takes about 30 mins return. Clean toilets in car park. Take away maps available on walks in the area. All free. One of the staff was very friendly and helpful but minus points for the unfriendly and inattentive staff who let the place down!

Super friendly staff. Dedicated to the environment and supportive to us visitors. I had a small problem that was dealt with immediately. Thank you! You will see me again!

A really good mini museum of the local conservation area. The rings cut into the deck to show the diameters of some of the largest Kauri are quite something. And great service from knowledgable DOC staff too.

We had a quick bathroom stop at the visitor center before heading down the road to the Pinnacles carpark. It was already closed when we arrived so I wasn't able to go inside. The carpark was quite spacious and it looked like there were some small trails nearby. The roads become gravel after passing the visitor center.

Firstly the building itself is quite contemporary looking. The centre is educational and informative. The maps and models are displayed. They also have souvenirs and craft for sale. You can also buy drinks and ice cream. The staff is nice and friendly.
