The best time to go is when it's raining. It is so magical and mesmerizing that you won't be able to feel seasick.

Wonderful places. The drive from Te Anau to Milford sound is very beautiful. However do plan extra time the driving as the route is narrow and steep. And it will get very slippery in the winter time. But it is definitely worth the drive. You will see a lot of counter for selling different cruise here. The one that I took is called mitre peak. I got the deal from bookme. Great deal. And was very luckily that we saw the seal and dolphin jumping on the surface of the sea. Beautiful scenery. A must visit places in New Zealand

Wow wow wow! This is a beautiful place and much worth a visit. We did the cruise with cruise Milford who were brilliant from staft to finish. They have smaller sized groups so you can really enjoy the sounds and take all the pictures you want uninterrupted. If you go on a wet day you will get to see loads of waterfalls. We also got lucky and saw some fur seals. Really enjoyed this!

Amazing place. Great service and hats off to everyone working out there. Without their wonderful friendly service, input/contribution and valuable time, this place would be different. 5 hour paid parking is available all around the location. 3 to 5 minutes walking to the ferry terminals from the visitor center. Also the last restaurant is here before you go on the cruise. A fuel pump is also available here. If you are running low you can top up.

Stunning. Breathtaking. Beautiful. Rugged. Untamed. Magnificent. From the drive leaving Te Anau through Homer Tunnel, the scenery, cliffs, mountains that touch the sky...then Piopiotahi...Milford Sounds and the boat ride. ! Great tour guides with interesting info and some waterfall antics. A absolute must for all. Aotearoa at it's best.

So grateful to be experiencing this tour during closed borders. I'm sure it would have been a far different thing if the 30 empty tour bus parks had been full. Wonderful that Southern Discoveries is in partnership with DoC and local authorities on conservation projects.

Probably the only place to get a bite that is close to the car park and Milford Sound Cruise Terminal. There are no cafes at the terminal building. Good selection of food, especially the toasted sandwiches. Very tasty. Iced coffee and smoothes were really good too.
