About Bradshaws
In 1908, Te Mata Station owner Bernard Chambers commissioned architect William Rush to build homes for his shepherd and farm manager. The shepherd’s house is now known as Rush Cottage and the larger farm manager’s home, Vidal House, was built in 1909 and is a classic example of the Domestic Revival architectural style.
Te Mata Station has an important place in New Zealand’s wine industry; Hawke’s Bay’s first vines were planted here for Bernard’s wine label, Te Mata Estate. Anthony Vidal, another local winemaker, leased 24 acres from Te Mata Estate to produce his own wine and in 1924, passed the lease to his three sons, who continued to produce wine under the Vidal moniker.
The Bradshaws have dedicated themselves to ensuring the legacy of the Chambers and Vidal families continues with their family for future generations.

Just a quick note, we ordered a coffee to have there as we were drinking it there. However, we were brought a coffee in a take away cup. If we would have wanted a take away cup, we would have given you our own cup. So next time advise you don't have more options for coffee containers than take away or ask. Thank you!
