Bought ticket at ticket machine, only to have the machine fail. But it posted a reference number ,of which I photographed. Qued 12 minutes to get to counter only to be met with "never seen that before (re pic of reference number)" assistant had no way of checking reference number so I was out of pocket. After some persuasion, assistant relented and issued me a complimentary pass. Got there eventually, but how about fixing it.?

V-max is nothing but a joke. (watched jurassic dominions). Save your money by just watching in smaller screens or smaller theaters, the experience way better than the falsely advertised "big screen, big sound & big seats" V-Max.

Visited for the first time. 7 screens. We maintained. Seats are good, have enough leg space. A good one for 2 to 3 hours of entertainment..

Very average cinema. Have noticed some weird facts during my visit last week as seats were too dirty and with black permanent stains on it. It clearly looks like those were not maintained well since long. Washrooms were dirty as well. No hygiene and sanitation maintained at all. Two stars are only given because of friendly staff.

I feel cheated and humiliated! Me and my partner went to watch a movie after 2.5 years with my 2 year old kid. Apparently the movie was R16 so the teller refused. But as we went for a movie after a long time I wanted to explain my situation to her so i tried to talk to the teller again, but the same person wasn’t there so i had to go to a different teller. before buying the tickets I confirmed with the teller twice that i have a 2 year old son with me and i was also carrying a stroller. Teller said it’s okay. And gave us the tickets. A while after ,manager advised us that she cannot allow us. I told her that we did confirm before buying and now they can’t allow, i wanted my money back. At first she declined and then after an argument she said she will provide vouchers only for tickets and i have to pay for the food i bought, and i agreed. She gave us 2 vouchers in replacement to our VMax tickets. Couple of days later when i went to watch another movie just by myself she (the manager) told me that the voucher that she provided was for standard tickets and not VMax; even though my original purchase was VMax tickets. But the manager was so egoistic she didn’t apologised once and kept saying same thing over and over again and was being really stuck up with what she did is right. All she has done is looted my money, blackmailed me by giving standard voucher against Vmax and didn’t inform me and humiliated me when i was trying to explain her the situation. It felt almost like she was bullying me. Her name is Jenna and she is the manager of Events St Lukes

Manager Chris is very rude and unprofessional. I do not understand how someone can be in this position which involves customer service. I bought my vouchers online and when booking it through the event cinemas website it kept saying Payment declined, I tried two different credit cards but it still shows the same error. So i tried other website transactions and it went through fine. I even called up both the banks and they said no issues from their end. They gave me the authorization codes to talk to the eventcinemas manager as they confirmed the issue is with Event Cinemas and not the banks. So i took the auth codes and drove to the cinemas all the way almost 15kms. The staff at the counter were very nice and humble but couldnt help as they dont have the info. So they called up Chris the manager. He was so rude saying its not his fault and its nothing to do with him. I mean, he didnt even try helping, checking the auth codes and looking at the errors nothing. I felt like i was just ignored there. One of the worst customer service manager i had even seen in NZ. I was extremely disappointed by the service provided by this man. His tone, his behaviour and his advise to me. I wouldnt advise Event Cinemas to have such a kind of behaviour from a customer service department.

Bit run down nowadays. Place needs a spruce up and new lick of paint. Toilets in the cinema both top and bottom should be the first on the management's agenda. Their a bit grotty and smell like a high school bathroom with graffiti all over the walls and cubicles (mens). Seats in the cinemas are still the small and old chairs from when it first opened with. They need the larger and roomier chairs that the new cinemas all have.

Movie picture and sound was good. Seats were comfortable and had a good amount of leg space. However seat all look pretty grubby, they need to be steam cleaned or reupholstered. While venue is looking a little shabby, the lighting is fairly dim but it needs some work. Toilets were nice and clean though. Still enjoyed myself, movie was excellent.
