β β β β β Not surprised by all the bad reviews. I left for a humiliating experience which I am still in therapy for. The highly aggressive nurse and coward Dr Chan are to blame. They also wouldnβt transfer my medical records to my new doctor without my insurance broker getting involved.

β β β β β Three terms describe this practice: inaccurate, dismissive, and humiliating. I was here until around 2010. My parents are still registered.
My first major issue was being prescribed antidepressants that didn't suit me. I became suicidal. My medication was never reviewed, only increased.
I had severe, long-term menstrual pains dismissed as "normal" or all in my head. They caused me so much pain I'd pass out. I missed so much school. I even lost a prospective job because I was too ill to attend my interview. Desperate for a solution, I requested depo provera, as I had read that it could help. My doctor tole me that I would gain 5 or 10kg on it. I was 48kg, so that was acceptable. I gained 35kg over a 12-18 month period. I found out recently that this is pretty common. This was also not reviewed. I raised it with my doctor twice, and each time he told me to drink a glass of water before dinner; next patient please.
The reception staff announced things that I would rather have discussed in private. I don't want other patients to hear I have to take a pregnancy test because I'm a day late to get my jab. I will not skip lectures if I can go a day later. I also don't want a nurse to publicly humiliate me for requesting free access to my own medical records. I'm glad I switched to a practice that doesn't derive joy from my humiliation.
My parents are still registered here. I'm trying to get at least my Mum to move to where I am, but progress is slow. She puts off seeing the doctor because she sees it as a waste of time and money. She has many issues that she should raise, but her doctor is so dismissive that she's loathe to take the time to see him.
One of the worst issues has been accuracy. Dr Chan has made errors in prescribing my Dad's heart medication several times. It's lucky Dad checks each medication after he gets home. If he didn't, he wouldn't have noticed that his medication was wrong. He went back to the pharmacy to look at the prescription, and sure enough the prescription was wrong. The pharmacists didn't mess up; the doctor prescribed wrong. My Dad is a heart patient. I'd hate to see what would have happened if he hadn't noticed. I'm nervous they're going to kill him if he stays.
I moved to Highland Park Medical after the nurse told me off for requesting my medical records. My new GP reviewed all my medication, and implemented a more holistic treatment plan. I am now functioning as a mentally healthy human being. I graduated with two bachelors degrees, I got a great media industry job with a decent income, I've been in a happy relationship for 2 years, and I qualified for Mensa. If I had moved over earlier, who knows what else I would have achieved in the several years I was ill.
If you value your health, please do not go here. Go to Highland Park Medical, 160 meters down the road. All the staff are lovely. I think it's a little more expensive, but you definitely get value for that money.

β β β β β My mom have been with them for years. Over the last year or so, she had pain in her shoulder which has limited her movement in one of her arms. The initial advice from the GP was to prescribe her with some pain relief pills! After months of pain, mom went back but only then to get referred to acupuncture. A few month later the pain only seems to be getting worse, then only with some instances from mom, the GP finally got her to do a series of diagnostic imaging (xray, ultrasound) and found out more serious issues in her shoulder where she finally got referred to a specialist. After visit the specialist and a MRI, it was found she has torn one of the tendon in her rotator cuff.
Now she needs surgery. Only if the GP were a bit more proactive....
