★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A change in doctors has been the decline of FMC. The receptionists have always been rude and only a couple of nurses are the same.
Have left here now. Good luck!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Don't dare be late for an appointment, but be prepared to wait an hour and a half for the doctor to see you for 5 minutes. The staff at Ferrymead Medical Centre treat you like you an inconvenience in their busy day.
Both my wife and I have had very poor experiences with our visits to Ferrymead Medical Centre. We don't visit frequently but we have been several times over the past 4 years and I can't say we have ever had a visit where we were not disappointed by the doctors attitudes or the rudeness of the reception staff.
We have however had great experiences with the nurses and we feel that they provide more insight and expertise than the doctors themselves.
We will be moving to a new medical practice as I am sick of being treated as an inconvenience to their busy social lives.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Worst medical centre. The nurses are rude (saying "your braindead"). The reception are grumpy old woman who do not have any kind words (like "how are you?") and have sour faces. The doctors do not respect our decisions and insist forcing their own. The doctor was not kind to our children (it was like they did not know how to interact with children).
We decided to go to this medical centre, as our friend trained there and there was a known 'Christian' doctor. But unfortunately, there was no Christian behaviour.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Rang thursday evening and was given an appointment for friday morning. Due to a respiratory appointment I had to sit in my car,
The Dr came out half an hour later
after my appointment time(expected at medical centres).
Was thorough and sent me off with a foray of prescriptions. Being a Respiratory appointment there was no charge. Great medical centre.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have been loyal to this medical centre throughout the many changes for x16 years since I relocated to Christchurch.
I was fortunate enough to be seen by Dr Simon Morley today,
A very professional meticulous attentive Doctor in his approach he exhibits a very sincere calming caring manner which is extremely rare and refreshing.
I highly recommend Dr Simon Morley if you require a true professional.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Much of my previous review is out of date, and concerns doctors and staff, both good and bad, who may not be there anymore. However, my experience there was not good and got worse over time. The culture was toxic, the main partner was not a nice person, the reception staff at the time were extremely rude and also charged me money improperly, and wouldnt refund it claiming their software couldn't do it. I had to file a complaint with the office manager which was only partly resolved. It became a source of real stress to have them as my GP but not know where else I could go, because my health is complex and I'd built up a good rapport with one of the doctors.
The best things you could say for Ferrymead MC at that time was that it was rarely booked out, the nurses were great, and my physician of choice was really nice and did a good job. I've followed him to his new practice. Other than that though, it was a pretty terrible medical experience, and I felt so immensely relieved the day we could all leave with our doctor.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I've been a patient here for a few years but not needed anything that urgent or important sorting out until recently. I have been very impressed with the care I've received. Ive seen 3 GPs here - Emma, Fiona and Sophia, all have a lovely patient manner and I felt listened to and validated about my concerns. Really appreciate the care I received expecially given how stretched medical practices are at the moment in the current covid climate and the extra pressure they are under.
