โ โ โ โ โ Prices are hiked as its so central. If you have spare $$ then it's a great wee store as they have everything and it looks fantastic. Otherwise there are 3 supermarkets in walking distance.

โ โ โ โ โ Let me preface this review by saying that I don't hate this supermarket whatsoever, it's often my go-to whenever I'm coming home from work via central city and the prices are decent when things are on sale. However, the experience I had yesterday with the security guard left such a horrid taste in my mouth that I feel people need to be aware of just in case this security guard in particular happens to be working the day you go in. Firstly, as soon as we walked through the door, this great lummox of a man halted our entry and very rudely demanded that we showed our empty supermarket bags to him (it was as if he had never seen a tote bag before, in a SUPERMARKET, no less!). If that wasn't bad enough, when we had made our purchases and were ready to leave, the collosal waste of space grabs hold of our trolley and refused to let us leave with it, despite the fact that we parked in the car parking building next to the shopping center where you are able to return the trolley after use. I'm not sure if the guy was just a bit slow in the head or whether he had some sort of superiority complex (or both, for that matter), but if he's the kind of person that FreshChoice City Market are employing, then you have to wonder what kind of business the management is trying to run. I don't like writing such horrible words about a person or business, but I was so thoroughly annoyed by the whole experience that it deserves to be said. I sorely hope the management reads this and decides to take action.

โ โ โ โ โ Great downtown supermarket, nice decor, spacious, well presented, human and machine checkouts are both available. Wide ranging drinks in the fridge readily cold. There's also a cafe at the entrance with a few seats and a table for their customers.

โ โ โ โ โ Every time I come here there is a man sitting in the cafe (not sure of his status e.g manager) but he sits there and seems to look the customers up and down as if deeming them fit for the store or not! Very intimidating.
Only a small selection of bakery items which is disappointing, and often not topped up when empty. Security watch you like a hawk and a lot of things are too overpriced. Music is dreadful and even though there are checkouts they push customers to use the self service only!

โ โ โ โ โ This is more of a deli supermarket if you have been to Oz you know what I mean.
It is well laid out and the product displays are superior compared to most new Zealand supermarkets. It is small/medium with choices and a cafe in the door a very city market. Its very pleasant to shop
