Giant brewing is an independent, locally owned and operated brewery and public house that started as a small side project involving two brothers and a mate in 2014.
From humble beginnings in an old barn under Te Mata
peak’s sleeping giant, we strived to do the giant justice and create big flavours, but, on a small scale.
Fast forward a few years and we’ve moved into a slightly bigger barn, making slightly more beer.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Easter rush meant this place was the only one available for lunch, but we weren't complaining! The food was delicious, with heaps of both food and drink options available. The staff were friendly and attentive, and managed the busyness so well!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had a great meal at Giant Brewery in Havelock North. Excellent service, lovely staff and the food was beautiful (and came out quickly). We got the crispy tofu burger and the beef &cheese burger with fries. Would highly recommend to anyone!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very light and warm bar, staff make you feel welcome. The thing I have to say that was the stand out for us was the food, hands down!! The service was fantastic, you order your food at the counter, it was fast and they were polite and friendly and when it came to the table....
We were blown away the meals they were definitely not small and the flavour was bloody awesome!
Will most definitely be going back. Highly recommend it!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice place, I had a Japanese inspired Poke bowl. Very tasty, almost as much as the beer. Good service, within the current alert level rules. Alittle funny paying for drinks and food separately but other than that no problem.
