★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stopped here for a night to break up the journey to Queenstown on a Wednesday night , spot on for us.
Spotlessly clean - both our room and the shared bathrooms. Comfy bed and space in the room. Nice little locals bar for a beer and had a great feed for a very reasonable price, steak, chicken and fresh salads - and the chef is very friendly and accommodating, same with the owner/bar manager! Crate DB for ~$9 (Nov 2020), small speights dark for ~$7.
We stayed midweek, had the place to ourselves, parking, stored our bikes under a porch, easy serve yourself breakfast of toast/cereal/tea/coffee. It's an older, simpler, quieter place but it's way cheaper than anywhere else, and it's spot if you want a place to bed down for a night.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great, affordable hotel. Charming room, with an old school fire place. Very clean with hot showers. Friendly and accomdating staff. Free breakfast (cereal and toast). Don't understand why so many complain for the price it is!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ After booking a room two months ago and having it confirmed for a public long weekend, we were informed four days before the weekend, that only one night instead of two was available. Being notified at such a late stage we were left unable to get bookings anywhere else as all places were booked out. This has left a very sour taste indeed.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Booked for a night on our way to Queenstown. Spotlessly clean, high quality linen and huge, comfy bed. You could call the place old and dated and in need of a coat of paint, but we’d call it a kiwiana time capsule! So much more fun than a standard motel. Friendly staff, good pub food and friendly locals too! We would stay again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a great wee place!! The beds are very comfortable for an affordable price. Staff are so friendly and lovley… they told us we could watch aus open in the bar!! To good. This place is super pet friendly and has a lot of character to the pub. 10/10 recommend this place. Couldn’t wait to come back!!
