Great quality, fresh seafood and super healthy.
Many seafood items are imported from Japan which is amazing!
I definitely think there is the best in town!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you consider going to GOKU Shabu Shabu don't think twice, just do it! Our dinner was perfect, from start till the end. Amazing staff helped us to choose from the menu, which is great, cause when you're not familiar with traditional Japanese cuisine, you can be a little confused. It was my first time eating this type of food and I wasn't dissapointed, on the contrary. Shabu Shabu was delicious and delicate, you can cook ingredients as much as you like. But what you should try is Suriyaki! We had it with rib-eye beef and it was soooo good, melting in your mouth. I ate more than I probably should have and the portions are very generous. Truly amazing experience both food and people, I can't recommend it enough. Also the interior and way of serving is really nice which makes it a wholesome experience for not only your palate, but your eyes as well. Enjoy!

Plum wine went perfectly with the meal. 5-star service, definitely a 100% must-try in Queenstown ??

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had a group of four, initially intending to dine at Tanoshi. However were turned away as we did not have a reservation & they were fully booked for the evening.
This was a blessing in disguise as this lead our curiosity across to the Goku storefront. We were only looking to purchase light snacks, however ended up spending $700!!
The restaurant was impeccably clean and very welcoming. There were so many wonderful odes to Japan, from the decor to the wonderfully curated menus. The lighting was very dim and created a wonderful moody ambience & the food, absolutely phenomenal.
For starters we ordered Wagyu dumplings, these were so juicy, tender & flavourful.
We also ordered the large sushimi platter, which was so fresh & of high quality. The presentation was flawless.
& for mains, we got the Wagyu A5 Shabu Shabu & sukiyaki Wagyu A5. Absolutely outstanding & an explosion to the tastebuds!!! The sauces picked for the Shabu Shabu were a match made in heaven!!
Above all, we just wanted to acknowledge the wonderful staff there. They tied our entire experience together and made it so pleasant. They were so warm and welcoming. In particular we wanted to highlight our amazing hostess Lan, she went above & beyond. All this food was so new to us and she spent the time to help recommend and curate our meals. She was also very informative & even took the time to demonstrate how to best cook our Wagyu. Please pass on our gratitude & thanks to her, she sure is priceless!!!
Also the hot sake & Japanese plum wine is a must!!! We are so thrilled that we stumbled across your establishment and were able to support a local company. We cannot recommend you enough and will definitely be back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had the set menu with shabu shabu and sake. It was so good, the staff were really friendly and gave us great recommendations (three of us, ended up getting the set menu and adding extra). Food was delicious and flavoursome.
It was really sweet that they gave us a free dessert so that one of us wouldn’t be left out.
Highly recommend to visit while in Queenstown!
