In the logistics business it’s always the unexpected that can catch you out no matter how well planned and prepared.
Keeping cool under pressure is part of the job and so is prevention – which is why Hall’s has its own workshop to manage and maintain our fleet. Clinton Pearce has the title of Refrigeration Coordinator at Hall’s and the responsibility of helping keep our fleet at its peak.
But it’s not just the nuts and bolts of the job he thinks about. What he’s most proud of, he says, is how Hall’s is responding to serving customer needs when it comes to food safety.
“New Zealand is moving towards a much more rigid system of food safety and as Halls Group are a major operator in industry, we are constantly improving our systems and processes to ensure we are ready for the challenges that these changes will bring. We’re in a strong position to meet, and in some cases exceed the requirements.”
He works with ‘great people’ at Hall’s, he says, and every day brings a new challenge. If you ask him what we do better than anyone else, the answer is all about approach. “Hall’s has a “can do” attitude. I mean people here go to try to make things happen for our customers that other transport companies may not. We pride ourselves on constantly looking for improvement in everything we do and I’m like everyone – I take a lot of pride in doing a good job.”
