If you want to hire a vehicle... Go to apex... Great motors, great service easy to deal with.. And well priced.. Straight forward process easy peasy... I highly recommend them

Always a great experience. Easy pick up and drop off. Staff are cheerful and knowledgeable. The cars are always clean and drive well. Not a single issue.

Fairly easy process and city and airport locations make it easy. The windscreen of the car they gave me was smeared on the inside - quite a dangerous experience to be driving towards the sun. I cleaned it as best as I could on my journey, and told the guy at the drop off. He was apologetic, but I reckon it was months of build-up. I hope they do better for future customers on this one aspect.

Our go to for car rentals, we find they have a great selection of nice cars for a very reasonable price. The best thing about it is you can return the car after hours with no additional fee (depending on when you've booked the car from of course). Staff are always super friendly and I've never had any issues with any of the cars I've driven, we've even been upgraded a number of times for free (which other car companies sneakily try to charge you for when they don't have the car they promised you).

Branch. Before I book a car for my journey in Wellington, I have contacted your contact centre to confirm whether you offer a free ride from Wellington domestic airport to Apex Wellington Branch, to be specific I have booked for Wellington Airport branch but they send me to collect the car to 25 Dixon Street. Which screwed me up on Sunday morning March 13th, first the phone numbers in any Wellington area specifically both near airport and Dixon street, are currently not taking calls, you deliberately put the phone on busy mode so anyone can contact these 2 branches, I have been trying for about 10-15minutes both local and 0800 numbers and are both busy and nowhere we could reach the branches, to pick us up in the airport knowing that I have children travelling with me. Due to this situation I have to catch a local combined taxi to 25 Dixon Street, and it costs me $35.50 to start my day just to be dropped off at Dixon Street. Then we got to the Apex Dixon Street branch, an asian lady instructed us that they move the Apex to 186 Victoria Street, what the hell is going on? There is also another couple who was freaking furious on this shamble that you all created, giving us freaking wrong instructions to pick up the car at Dixon street when you move to 186 Victoria street?  My children and I need to walk for at least 10 minutes to find 186 Victoria Street, no sorry or whatsoever, not even a single call to inform me at least? We finally got the car from 186 Victoria Street, but the 2 men who were working there are not even organised. I even ask them for the free booster seat that I have requested during my booking, they both totally look freaking confused.This is very unprofessional. When I returned the car on March 14th, here comes another circus again at 9.40am in the morning, the asian lady asked me to refuel the car to full tank, which I did. Then she told me something about "good news" that we are offered to head back to Wellington airport for free if we book a taxi from Dixon street. When I said, yes she can get me a taxi if that's free of charge knowing that the offer was to get a free ride from Apex as they said to in the first place when we pick-up and return the car from the Wellington branch. The asian lady from Dixon street who said that the "free of charge taxi" called a taxi for me and my children and dropped us off at the airport, ending is not so freaking free at all! As I have paid the taxi driver $30.00, he stated that the lady who called him didn't mention anything about pay. Therefore I have to pay the taxi in my own pocket. WTF!!!! Apex Rentals, you are very unprofessional, you are not true to your words on your advertisement. Very bad experience as my 1st time client. Cost me extra $65.50 plus stress and trouble that you have caused me during pickup and drop offs. You all definitely need to have a proper train on how to handle your clients properly, as well as giving them the right information during pickup or drop off. Lastly, to be true to what you say or advertise.

Easy to book and pay online with sharp prices and an excellent selection of modern cars in good order. From pickup to returning the rental car 7 days later they were easy to deal with. We drove 2200km with no problems and would book a car again for future travel.

This was my first time ever to hire a car here in NZ, and it was a very good experience with Apex. The booking was so easy, not expensive, and everything is clear (no hidden charges). The website shows you everything you need to know. I've got the 2.4l Rav4 for 3 days to attend a workshop in Matamata (the hobbiton), and the car was clean, smooth and swift (we didn't face any issues with the vehicle). Returning the car was even easier and everything done in less than a minute. Friendly staff, reasonable prices, and great range of cars.

I have used this company for years and have allways been very happy with them. Great value and service. But.... when booking through the Picton branch a few weeks ago I needed to change the pickup location. I rang the Picton branch, requested the change and asked if there was an extra charge. "If you've already paid, there's no problem." I was charged an extra $141! On calling the branch I was basically told that was not the conversation I had and was offered a 50% refund on the extra charge. I wrote to customer service - no reply. I emailed head office - no reply. Today I called customer service and was told there is no head office to talk to and I needed to settle it with the Picton office. Really guys? A very frustrated customer.
