★ ★ ★ ★ ★ NICE stay but not coping with all the new customers waiting to check in...staff overwhelmed and 20 minute check in was not good enough given we had traveled from Wellington to Cape Reinga and back to Auckland over 2 weeks to end our holiday like this...disappointed and access to building hard to find...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Terrible service, waited over 4 hours to check into one of two rooms, Waited another hour for next room was told while waiting each time, please come back in an hour. On day 2 rooms were not serviced. Entrance is not well sign posted.

Super unprofessional took 2 hours of them telling us it would be an hour until our rooms were ready, then as more people started to come in they were even less sure when our rooms would be done. ended up asking for a refund and leaving. Shocking experience this was at 7pm at night.

Went to check in when we were supposed to just to find out there were a lot of people standing and waiting around to be checked in as well. One lady had been waiting for 3 hours (we came around 6pm and the lady said she's been waiting since 3pm) and still not checked in. We asked how long it would approximately take for us to be able to get into our room and all they repeated to everyone was that they can't give definite answers on how long it would take.
Seemed very unprofessional and unexperienced.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ For a 5 star hotel, I would expect quite a bit. The staff were a little unprepared, although it was their first time working in a hotel so it's understandable. The rooms were tiny for a big price, and the beds were hard, which was not great. The shower is almost see through so you really don't have any privacy. Breakfast was probably the best part.
For a brand new 5 star hotel, this was very disappointing. We have been in a lot of 4 star hotels in the same area and worldwide, and they were clearly better than this.
