My Jeep had a check engine light, I used a OBD reader to get the code which was the oil pressure sensor. I took it to Houston Motors in Nelson who I have been a client with for 4 years. A relatively easy replacement of a sensor turned into a $1100 bill after the mechanic working on my vehicle broke the oil cooler trying remove the oil pressure sensor. The mechanic and Acting manager Denis proceeded to tell me that it was common to break the oil cooler during this repair. I was sceptical so I contacted other Jeep dealers, one in Auckland and one in Wellington who were both very alarmed that this would be an excuse for damaging a $670 part for a relatively easy repair. My wife picked up my Jeep and dropped it into me at work and I saw that there was oil spilled on my front guard, greasy hand prints on my bonnet, 1/4 panel and greasy foot prints all over my bullbar along with a red/pink liquid over my very expensive wheels and inside of the engine bay. As you could imagine I was livid, so I contacted the dealership and spoke to Denis again who really didn't give a damn which infuriated me further, I asked to speak to the dealer principal and was told by Denis that he wasn't there. I then called the main sales office and was put through to the dealer principal immediately (oh look Denis lied again). I was offered a free car grooming, but at this point I didn't want Houston Motors anywhere near my Jeep. It's a pitty I use to speak highly of Houston Motors and have had both my Cherokee and Wrangler with them for 4 years but for some reason their vehicle and customer service has really slipped by the way side, the attention to detail is gone and now I'm just treated like garbage. An honorable company would have admitted fault and replaced the part they damaged for free or at a significantly discounted price and not passed the costs to the client, my Jeep has 43,000kms on the clock and does very minimal kilometers every year and I keep it in immaculate condition. Honestly I am really disappointed with the way this was handled, and I hope this review will act as a warning to anyone else who is thinking of using this company as a service center for their Jeep.

Great service from the Nelson team. Loan car for the day. Mine has been fully serviced, brake discs changed, road test and warrant done. Came back to find my car had been cleaned inside and out. Looks brand new. Thank you Houston Motors....

4 1/2 months of lies , excuses and under performance. No qualify person available for do the work... costing huge amount of money in rental cars plus other inconvenience . Over pricing invoice and still waiting for decent attention o update ,wouldn't will provide legal name of the company, answering with fake name - this was from Andrew Norris- director. No hint of looking for solution . Hope no body pass for this experience in future
