β β β β β After searching many different second hand car yards, we found ourselves at the Car Company in Nelson. Jason was very welcoming and patient with us as we found the car for us. I held off on writing anything until about 2 months in to owning our car. So, far there have been no issues. We just needed to get rear speakers fitted, as they weren't installed in the car. We called Jason about it and he put us on to someone right away. We are happy to recommend the Car Company to anyone looking. I would like to also give special mention to the Tahuna dealership as well, they were also extremely friendly and helpful.

β β β β β Came in from out of town and had lined up two cars to test drive with Heath, with the intention to buy one and drive it home. Heath told us that they were essentially the same car, the only difference was the brand name. When we got there we found that they had serviced and replaced the shocks on one, while the other hadn't been serviced, no plates, and hadn't been cleaned. despite that, in my mind it was the superior car due to quality of life additions such as reversing camera, better stereo etc. Gary who was on the yard that day tried to tell me that the car they prepared for sale was a superior model to the other and that I should buy it. I mentioned that Heath said they were the same and asked which of them was lying. I also told him I was not happy that I was promised that these both would be ready for drive away sale and they weren't. Gary said he would refuse to apologize. My wife said we need a car and went to the office to arrange payment for the one I didn't want. I spoke to the Money Company's Alan Ebdon about my dismay. He was ambivalent. Sometimes he would talk as though the Money Company was a part of the Car Company, other times he would act as though they had nothing to do with one another, despite being in the same building and all purchases going through them. Alan called the owner of the Car Company and suggested a loaner car for a week and we could come back next week and pick up the other car. I reminded Alan that coming in next week was a 4 hour round trip and would take up a whole day with finance admin included. Also I was promised that it would be ready today, so what guarantee would they give me. Alan assured me that it would be done, even though he had previously said he isn't a part of the Car Company. I said I will accept on the proviso that I can test drive both vehicles again to have a fair comparison. Alan said they won't do that because someone might want to buy the other car this week and they can't risk a potential sale. I went for a walk to think about it. Found a better car yard and purchased a car from there. So Alan managed to save that potential sale at the cost of an actual sale. Heath later emailed my wife to say he didn't have the 'manpower' to have both cars ready on time. He also obviously didn't have the 'man power' to email us before hand and save us a trip, a waste of a day and $60 worth of fuel.
I don't think I could recommend a business less.
