β β β β β Very pleasant stay. Convenient, with a short walk to town, but quiet. We gather that it thanks to the fact that the kakas didn't make a visit! Saw plenty of them at Ulva island, so didn't miss out.
Studio units are comfortable and well equipped. Could be a little chilly in winter as floor not well insulated, but fine for us in early Dec.

β β β β β This is a lovely place to stay on Rakiura. The accommodation is spacious and very clean. Ours had a small kitchen with a microwave and toaster etc which was perfect. The beds were very comfortable. The lodge is a short walk to town.
The bird life is brilliant with a Kaka visiting the feeding table. The dawn and dusk chorus was lovely.

β β β β β A cosy and tucked away little retreat that made us feel like we were in the forest. You will definitely spot some birds while staying here!

β β β β β They provide free shuttle from and to the ferry - just inform them of your arrival and departure. Good communication even from the online booking. The room is spacious, clean and warm. The electric outlets were well placed. Being in an island, they rely on rain to fill up their water tanks so, we just need to be conscientious in conserving water.

β β β β β Just finished our stay at Kaka Retreat. Fantastic service!! Warm, clean, comfortable, and quiet!! Just what we needed. We had a friendly Kaka who came to visit two nights in a row which was such a treat!! Would highly recommend!! We will be back!!
