We did the tunnel loop, it was a really easy track with some lovely views. The tunnel is very long and dark, so I don't recommend it if you're scared of the dark. It was drizzling slightly when we went, but I think it made the gorge look even better.

Amazing walk surrounded by stunning translucent clear river and gorge. Windows walk gives good exercises up stairs.

It was an exciting walk through mines and tunnels. We had so much fun there. It’s not very long and not exhausting. A must do?

Dropped by to this place with family and my grandchildren. We all enjoyed our walk. Even my 2 year old grandson had fun. This is child friendly tourist attraction. Heads up though when you visit this place, make sure you come early and not a holiday as you ran out of space for parking. You can also enjoy sharing a meal there. Highly recommended ?

A really nice area with multiple walks to choose from for any fitness level. Went through the Karangahake tunnel and Window Walk - both requires a light/flashlight. Recommend to wear sneakers even for the easy/casual walks as the ground can be uneven. Hiking shoes especially for the rougher terrain/harder walks. Definitely recommend some water, especially on a sunny day as shade is not present on all trails. 2 carparks available, one with a toilet nearby and one only 400-500m down the road. Currently the Windows Walk is blocked halfway, but it was an enjoyable walk nonetheless with multiple informative historic plaques along the way. Definitely a place to stop and explore. Also very dog friendly, lots of dogs there!

It's a great place to walk around and explore the old working of the gold mining times. Great tracks following the river, through the tunnel and over a couple of bridges. A large carpark area with toilets and undercover seating areas to enjoy the view. Well worth going to explore this place
