★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Très jolie balade. Il y a deux sentiers qui mènent au sommet. Un très direct, assez raide et un peu envahi par la végétation. Il n'est pas très agréable. Le deuxième sentier est, quant à lui, parfait pour la promenade. Dénivelé environ 400 mètres. Ne pas s'aventurer sur ce sentier en cas de risque de feu de forêt.
 Very nice ride. There are two trails that lead to the summit. A very direct, fairly steep and a bit overgrown. It is not very pleasant. The second path is perfect for walking. Elevation approximately 400 meters. Do not venture on this trail if there is a risk of forest fire.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A good workout hiking up to Mt Karangahake. Take the left fork up the steeper path as it'd be a nightmare on the knees coming down that. It's narrow, a bit rocky in places, steep, but it is mostly in the shade and has great peep views.
Or you could take the gentler right fork there and back, not a biggie. Much less arduous both up or down, wider, gentler, still shady, and no real views.
The view from the top is incredible, nearly 270° views of the plains, farms and hills.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A lovely hike up, would say it was intermediate, the paths are sometimes narrow so constant watching the ground. The sharp thorn bushes like need to look out for. Took 3 hours return. At the top there are some rocks to rest for lunch but there are lots of hungry flies. Come early to enjoy an empty carpark because it does fill up. After the summit walk you can enjoy the gorge scenery.
