★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A nice wee detour on our way down south. Pity you couldn't go in to see the lighthouse, but still got some nice pictures. Although we weren't sure about the road, we got both motorhomes parked no worries.

Sea lions are always there.....
Go at the far end and you will see all resing....

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Enjoy 2nd location with different penguens heading south from Oamaru. Lovely place with nice scenery as you drive from Oamaru - take longer route. Have fun!!!

Tucked away down a long road, often unsealed, you get eventually to a car park with a little walk out to a rocky cliff area dotted with seals, penguins and bird, some incredibly close up too! There were also people swimming and diving, and a cute little lighthouse too. Worth the drive out to!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We like lighthouses, just because of the significance of them. Nowadays digital beacons taking over lighthouses job, however people with small sea crafts are still relying on visual warnings. This example is easily accessible and very well maintained. When you come, please respect the locals (speed limit, parking spot etc...)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Woo!!!! If you walk past the light house about 10-15 you can see the seals ? this was an amazing experience.
My first encounter with seals and I was in love even though they were missing at us ?
