★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stunning reserve to visit. Saw very large sting ray and flounder right at the shoreline. Masses of fish and baby crayfish in the shallows which were stunningly clear. This was our second visit and just beautiful. Will definitely go back. Toilets are clean and the whole reserve is beautiful.

I don't want to tell too many people about this place because it is a nice peaceful serene place.
Ongare Point has lovely people. Remember the type of neighborhood that would come over to welcome you to the neighborhood by bringing us a home made loaf of bread.
Another neighbor brought us strawberries.
A beautiful place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A lovely quiet beach! It can be windy but that's to be expected. When I went there was a lot of sea lettuce on the beach. There is parking right at the end of the stretch of beach and a trail that can take you up to the Kauri Point reserve too!
