This place is 100% authentic. My wife and I had dinner there on 20 May 2022 - our first time. After living in Malaysia and Singapore for four years, until now we havenโ€™t found a truly authentic Malaysian street food eating place. Kedai Mamak is the real deal. We had Kuey Teow, Nasi Paprik, a Teh Tarik and a Teh Halia. Couldnโ€™t find fault with any of the flavours and content. Everything was spot on. We ended up getting takeaways for our daughter and her Indonesian friend - Mee Kuah, Mee Goreng, Fried Chicken and two more Teh Tarik. That too was spot on. Kedai Mamak will be our local from now on. Excellent food and drink at a very reasonable price point.

Love the authentic Malaysian mamak taste and feel. Teh Tarik was quite fragrant and has that slight bitter end taste which was perfect. Fried chicken combo with rice, vege and sambal was humble and to point. Importantly, it lived up to the hype of being well priced. We didn't get to try many of the other offerings as they were sold out. Wait for longer than we would have liked but not a problem as we were having a relaxing Saturday. We'll head back to try more items. Oh and they were busy but still friendly which is quite a rare scene in NZ so kudos!

Good portion and price. Ordered mee goreng with cabbage top up. Taste good like you get at a typical mamak store in Msia. However staff needed to be attentive. When I asked about my order.. the server was about to go on a break...and theres only one table besides me. He have to step in to plate my food and serve me during his break. Dont know what happen to the other 2 kitchen crew

First time here and wow, reminds me on Malaysian mamak stalls. Keep it up. Mee goreng was nice and the friend chickens, lets just say i ordered 1 extra one. :) And thanks for the effort in making for us the not spicy nasi goreng.

Service is quick; staff were so good to explain the menu and offer me taste test to check the level of spice if it's to my preference. Family friendly, plenty of parking,FOOD IS FLAVORFUL! ? Coming back once a week to try the whole menu ?

Probably the most authentic Malaysian we had yet in this country. Felt like we were back in Malaysia eating on the side streets and everything but was bursting with flavours. My wife who is Malaysian was so impressed that she had suggested to come back each week. Picture does not look like much, but the flavours are amazing. Price is so good for the portion size. Service so friendly and speedy. Will be back. Support local!

I ordered the lunch special for $9.95, went off a pic on their menu so unsure what its called. They forgot to put a chicken in for me. Second time I've been here, customer service isn't great, but can't fault them on the food. Tastes yum.

Went there a few months ago before the lockdown and maybe a few days after this place appeared on one of the newspaper for the first time. There were a lot of people but service seems to be fast enough. Had chicken curry on rice, with a deep fried chicken wing and two veges plus sambal on the side, it was quite tasty just like hawker stall back in South East Asia. However it wasn't that cheap as the newspaper suggested; it was $12.50... still reasonable for the portion size tho (see pictures). And went back there again for breakfast a week after my first visit. There wasn't a queue in the morning, and managed to ordered half and half fried noodles for breakfast, it was very authentic, tasty and decent portion size for just $4.99. Can't wait to revisit this little cafe again this year after the long dreadful lockdown.
