I really don’t understand why this man owns a store where he needs to interact with the public. He’s rude and follows you around which feels like he is distrusting. I went in there a few days ago hoping the experience would have changed sadly it had not.

Horrible experience! I don’t want to go there again. It felt like I’m not welcome. I think they should put a Sign (Koreans only). The same as with the other reviews, the owner (specifically the old men) followed me everywhere I go and keep closing the freezer even before I take the stuff that I want. The old lady even told me off after I opened the fridge for probably less than a minute because she said, β€œthe cold will come out. Just look outside the fridge and only open it when you are fully decided”. I mean, I get that they want to save money, but it’s ridiculous! They opened a shop, not a house! I prefer the previous Korean shop along Grey street the owners there were very kind and helpful, unlike at Kim’s Club! Please do not go there if you don’t want to have a bad day!

The owner is Racist, if you’re coloured, he will follow you around the store and watch every step you take. Disgusting behaviour!

What a disgusting customers service. They should change the name from asian food and groceries to korean only shop. The shop owner will keep following you and look you constantly if you were going to steal. I was even told to go out because i was on my phone with my partner asking what she wanted. Even swore in his language which i happened to understand. Wife was very helpful nevertheless. But the man has no manner at all, while i was going to pay he was shaking his head in disgust. Never going there ever again!!

Dear Mr. Kim, I am deeply offended by your customer service again today. This is the second time I went to your store. I thought you were just having a bad day the first time we visited, however this does not appear to be the case. You attitude is terrible again once you found out that I am not Korean and you cannot wait to send me out of the door. I do really hope you read this post and change your attitude to be inclusive of all customers regardless of their ethnicity or race.

They should put up a β€œKorean Only, or get the hell out of my store” sign at the door. My partner and I went there about a few months ago as this other shop on Grey St had shut down. It’s a one-in-one-out rule back then cuz of COVID. The male owner sort of greeted us at the door but as soon as we greeted him back in English and let him know that we came in as one bubble things started to change. He stood at the counter impatiently watched our every move and seem to be annoyed by the fact that we split into different isles (we did this because we wanted to be quick as there were other customers waiting outside). We quickly grabbed a couple of snacks and at the check out my partner noticed there’s no Paywave available, so he asked politely if he can quickly ran back to the car to grab an eftpos card. It was as soon as my partner ran out of the door I heard the owner thrown the snacks we wanted to buy heavily at the counter and sighed, as if he was very annoyed. My partner was back within seconds before I could comprehend what had just happened and say something to the owner. We were then quickly out of the door. Without me telling what happened, my partner said to me that was really awkward shopping experience for him and we decided to never go there again. I wanted to write a review soon after our visit but had decided to let it go, as things might be difficult for the owner especially during Covid times. It was not until recently we exchanged this experience with our friends we realised the owner’s attitudes were just because we weren’t Korean. My partner and his friend, who are both of Korean decent, had totally different experience shopping there, because his friend is fluent in Korean and spoke with the owner in Korean.

Finest establishment, A rare gem of Hamilton, a top 5 must visit wonder of Hamilton; These are the many things this establishment embodies. All this made possible with the astute gentlemen of a character that is Mr Kim, full of vigor and radiating pure gleaming joy. Giving each foreign visitor an A class tour of his humble abode and a one of a kind experience. This man is truly one of a kind, carrying the hospitality of Korea on his shoulders.

Only place in Hamilton I could find that had all of the items I was after. The owners were super nice and helpful. I read many bad reviews about them being unwelcoming towards non-Korean people but I an not Korean and I am very happy with my experience there. I do speak some Korean and have spent some time in Korea so am more aware of customs and culture so that could have contributed to the different experience I had. Overall very happy and so glad there is somewhere in Hamilton I can buy Korean food/ingredients from.
