★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had a wonderful dining experience, greeted by friendly staff on what was a busy night! We were pleased to find out that they had an extensive vegan menu which included starters, mains, desserts and sides - particularly as Lone Star is notorious for meat dishes. We all left extremely full and very happy! Definitely going back when we stop through again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Restaurant full. Service was extremely fast and accurate. Meals were great, big portions as expected from Lone Star. Staff were polite and attentive. Venison was a little bit well done but still tasted good. Recommended if you want reliable service with reasonable quality and price. Good for family groups.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Came to lonestar for dinner, My partners 1st time and we loved it, He had the Tequila Scallops and Bb Ribs and I had the Dixie Chicken ? Enjoyed our meals and we'll worth the price, Staff was very friendly will definitely be back again ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Food was OK, but the portions were too small. The service was good. We were looking for a dependable steak house, but there isn't much in the way of steak options really at this restaurant. We are keto and once you take away the heavy carbs (bread and chips) there isn't enough fat and protein on the plate to satisfy (even the kids were still hungry) . It is almost identical in price overall to the Taupo Steakhouse around the corner, when we return to Taupo we will skip Lone Star in favor for the larger meat protions and better options around the corner.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We went for the Boxing Day dinner. The food was amazing. The staff was very friendly. Although we haven’t made a reservation the team helped us to find a table and managed to get the food ready as early as possible.
Food was great and portion size was filling.
