★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We have been dining here for decades. We go because the quality of the food is well above average, especially when compared to the vast majority of other Chinese restaurants in the region. We also patronize this restaurant because the service is second to none, and the décor and ambiance are exquisite. The very same things which make us happily comfortable here are the same things that make our lower class relatives equally uncomfortable here. And that is understandable when you look at it through their eyes: the ambiance is understatedly elegant and full of character in an authentic old-school kiwiana manner that borders on Wellingtonian university professor hipster pastiche without an iota of the usual try hard trashy sentiment, the food is not swimming in fat, salt or sugar, and all of the staff are actually adults.

We walked in and serviced with friendliness, not many people in but they were super happy and genuine. They had to make sure we were happy and comfortable and we were with the amazing service we had. Never had service like this before. It felt like walking in to the asian grandparents home I never had. Their vision and push for the restaurant was in the right direction and they wanted everyone to be happy and enjoy their food. The food had quality that I haven’t seen before. They served basic menu that was perfect for nz. Going to China and tasting the food there it honestly feels like I’m back there with the love and quality of the food. Really like this place, would recommend
