★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Used to be one of my favourite places for a hot drink, mainly due to the atmosphere and the service. Unfortunately, the last couple of times I’ve visited left much to be desired. In my most recent visit, the lady at the counter got my order wrong -which is completely human. However, when the order arrived with normal milk - when I had mentioned a couple of times that I’d like almond milk - a staff member came back to say that I hadn't ordered almond milk. Upon clarification, the staff member returned and I waited for another 20 minutes or so only to get the wrong drink altogether. Again, you could say it was a trying day for the staff. However, the lady looked annoyed and shook her head when I mentioned I’d ordered a hot chocolate and went back to the counter. I waited for another 5 minutes with no apology or update on my order. I walked up to the counter only to be ignored by all three staff members. I called out to the lady who said it’s coming and was quite dismissive. Mistakes happen, however, I was made to feel like a nuisance for wanting the drink I had paid for. A little kindness and communication goes a long way.

I've yet to have anything less than a perfectly-made coffee at Machete; an act that is truly appreciated because the coffee itself is incredible. On top of their wonderful beverages, their service is fantastic. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and always happy to help.
Highly recommended.
