K	Karthik Kiren on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's a nice stop over. If you have a 4wd, you can drive about 100m inside, park there and take a 1 min walk to get a glimpse of the views. The surface may be slippery in the mornings due to frost.
J	John Rata on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 11 km north of National Park. A must see place to go. Take care when walking over the rocks as they can be slippery. Also campers check out Mangahuia Campsite 5-6 km back toward National Park. Spectacular vieiws of Mt Tongariro and Mt Ruapehu.

Parking is tight so be sure to park off the road as much as possible as can a busy highway. After a heavy rainfall they are are a spectacular view.
