★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We ordered the fishermen's basket adding Kumera chip's at the fish & chip's Cafe in the hotel. Them sitting ourselves down for a feast in the bar. We looked up while feasting away to find a beautiful blue and yellow parrot sleeping on a perch just waking up. Upon spotting us enjoying our basket, this amazing parrot began entertaining us break dancing with the stars on the perch there with a hilarious style of funny antics. The bar itself greets you like a place giving us a warm and cozy hug as well as the café good people had given us with their smiles and good nature.Lovely experience for all.

Being sober driver made the beers look tantalising, but a cheeky cola held me over for the main event, the big win on the slaps. ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I stayed here a while back with my family for a quick nostalgic visit of the town. but I must say, my stay here was quite disappointing. we only stayed here for one night but I couldn’t sleep until early in the next morning. the sound proof of the walls were absolutely terrible from the bar downstairs- i understand that there is a bar and bars generally have many guests and loud noises but this should not at all be a factor to disturb the guests living there. having a more closed bar or having rooms with walls that were more soundproof could have definitely improved the whole experience. the room was also quite disappointing, it was not decorated in an appealing manner and the room was not satisfactory. i acknowledge the old and vintage style of this hotel but having these items in lacking should be something recognised considering the new and changed interests of future generations. but nonetheless, I enjoyed the more vintage aesthetic of this hotel in keeping potential past memories alive but I hope the owners could consider my feedback as something to pass their mind as a piece of advice and critique when recognising developments in their hotel.
