★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fantastic meal, perfect service and such a lovely setting. We had a family group of 12 for dinner for a birthday and we had a brilliant night. All of our food was excellent and the service was fantastic. The outlook to the trees and the river is lovely. Highly recommended.

This time we had the ceviche, chicken salad and chowder along w coffees and a brilliant kids menu - everything is spot on!

Pricing & Food, fair and affordable. I ordered the seafood chowder which was good size serving, creamy and fair amount of seafood. Ordered the 3 course kids meal, fruit salad (entrée) fish and chips (decent sized fish pieces) vanilla icecream and chocolate sauce. Which was also fairly priced.
Service upon entry: I felt the lady on the entry table could be more approachable and at least make it feel like she wanted to work there or serve us. We were given menus and seated, however I felt rushed and like it was a drive thru situation. She could definitely do with a pep in her step.
She failed to ask us how we wanted the kids 3 course meal, which resulted in me asking another waitress if I can receive the fruit salad and main at the same time.
Regardless that this waitress was seated right behind us we were not served or approached by her after handing over the menu’s and taking our orders, which I’m actually grateful for as she definitely left a sour taste during our brunch experience.
If our initial waitress had put more energy into her service and not acted like she had better things to do than serving us, I would have rated this place better.
However reading another recent review below, it makes sense why she was not very welcoming to my son and I ??♀️

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place came highly recommended. There was indoor and outdoor seating available, the outdoor seating faces a creek, offering a very relaxed atmosphere. Nice food presentation, taste wasn’t anything exciting. Was a bit disappointed with services, very lukewarm.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful setting and beautiful food! It was so good we dined in here for Breakfast and Lunch. Tucked behind the Matakana Markets along the riverside, the outdoor setting is tucked under a shelter and surrounded by plants. Very relaxing! The food was divine! Can highly recommend the Avocado on Toast and Seafood Chowder. Very accommodating staff who gave great advice for visiting the area.
