★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the best hikes I've had in a while. No track, just make your own way up the river. I had the entire place to myself for the whole day. Best waterfall in the entire taranaki region. All the rocks here are filled with fossils and the swimming hole is a unique black, scary to swim across. I believe you can take a helicopter ride here to cut the drive and hike time out of the picture.
