Below expectations. I really enjoyed the brioche buns, however, most of the plates we tried were below expectations. I didn't understand the flavor combinations and the idea behind each plate. Main portions are quite small and service had ups and downs (more downs than ups).

Very slow service. Under staffed. Limited menu. Not worth the hype.

We ate here on Christmas Eve and had a special preset menu. Everything was delicious - food very creative and beautifully presented with super fresh, local ingredients. Service was wonderful, as they carefully explained each plate and were attentive to our glasses, etc. Highly recommend if you’re a foodie!

Spend around $420 for a meal for 2 people with drinks. While Millbrook is the pioneer in food taste in Queenstown and arrowntown, the portions was way too small, my side and my entree was bigger than my main. I order a $60+ in a fillet and it came with 4 tiny pieces (it was delicious though). Service & food taste are great but no point goint to a restaurant if you have to order Pizza after because you and your date still hungry. Because it failed to meet this fundamental food criteria while charge above premium, its lots 3 stars to my eyes. FYI... I've been to every single fine dining restaurant in Queenstown and this is still the smallest portion.

I have been going to Millbrook on and off for dinner for over 20 years. Well there has been some change. The evening started with an avocado and cucumbers entree which was superb in taste and innovative but for half an avocado and at a cost of $27 it was outrageously expensive For the main I ordered the fillet steak at $42. So the steak comes out in the centre of a massive plate and then they pour gravy over it. There was also a side plate of fancy 4 zucchini and that was that. No carb in sight My wife asked for a cooked salmon not just marinated which came out raw in the centre. If she wanted sushi she would have asked for it. It would have been so much better if there was some starch - the humble potatoes/rice or something else Deserts were fine. I had a glass of wine We left hungry and disappointed. And $155 the poorer. The artisan approach to food is really only good for the wealthy few on a diet. The evening followed by Vogels toast at home.

We ordered the chef menu at the night. The restaurant is focusing on organic and natural foods which they did a great job. But the the tastes is not well combined. The taste of each dish feel little bit boring and the combination of those dishes are just not work for me. The other problem is the temperature, the kitchen temperature might be little bit high, cause our cold soup are not in the right temperature when served.
