★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Asked staff what they recommended for lunch as it was my treat visit to Hanmer. The lad said steak sandwich and it looked good at almost $27 I thought it'll be good. Wrong. Tough as tough and my teeth couldn't chew, let alone swallow the meat ( which was cooked as asked medium rare ). Think beast died of natural causes. Staff did not come near to check so left a note with inedible steak on plate.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Highly recommended!! Had lunch one day and 2days later our kids insisted that we come here again after the horrible meal. We had at Salt n Pepper they didnt want to rush it lol. Dinner was absolutely amazing and the staff are so friendly and makes the kids feel apart.
Anyone looking for a great atmosphere and food should not pass this opportunity to dine here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ate here for lunch, great place & great food. We brought our dog and ate in the shared court yard, our waitress brought our dog some water. We werent meal checked but luckily everything was great, probably would have ordered another drink if we were checked tho! Thanks a bunch! :)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Avoid!!! Only allowed to order a drink with food, wish I hadn’t bothered. Horrible overpriced fried rubbish and to top it off, we weren’t allowed to order a second drink whilst we ate. Honestly, thought the staff were joking. Pic to show how busy it was, obviously words got round about their crazy easter rules!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Arrived and got a seat very quickly, service was prompt. Our drinks were absolutely delicious and one of our mains was nice also, however there was an issue with my meal being undercooked. The manager dealt with it really well and we were impressed at the efforts to remedy. Cheesecake for dessert was out of this world, would definitely recommend trying it!

Had the lunch specials that go right up till 5pm which was great because we were there about 4pm one day and it's that annoying time where most places stop serving food at 3pm. Not here though! Staff were friendly, it was nice and warm inside - you could sit where you wanted. Meals were served hot, were huge and delicious! Garlic bread was bloody good, second time we tried it with the cheese dip - do yourself a favour and get it. Only downside is that you wanted more of it haha. Really recommend Monteith's! They were also child friendly - we didn't have any but saw kids there having a great time. I had the fried chicken both times which was delicious and came with a side salad (was huge & great value for $19), husband had ribs the first time and blue cod fish & chips the second - I sampled both and they were really good!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had a wonderful dinner here. There was a live musician playing who was very entertaining playing all the old classics like "the gambler."
We chose a seafood platter which was simply superb. Great Flavours, only the cod thing was battered, scallops and prawns tasted awesome. Definitely big enought to feed 3 happily.
One down side was a glass was broken on the floor and cleaned in too much of a rush. we could still see shards on glass which should have been vacuumed.
Would recommend going and will come again for the seafood platter

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Understandably busy night. They got us a table reasonably quickly. Let us know about the wait time. Then the food arrived. The pork chops were cooked well but for something advertised as seasoned....not a lot of flavour. The seafood basket was very average. Mostly overcooked and the fries were saturated in oil.
Have had better food here. Tonight was not that night.
