β β β β β Love the Mussel Inn, lots of space to eat n drink. The orange roughly cider is so yummy and the range of beers are extensive. My husband always orders the mussels, steamed with lemon. I enjoy their beef pie. A cool tyre swing for the kids to play in.

β β β β β Terrible service. Food is average. Mussels are not cleaned properly. Not really any options for kids. The que for the bar is 20mins at least.
Beer was nice

β β β β β Great, locally brewed beer. Tasty, real food. Quirky but wonderful decor.

β β β β β Unfortunately I only had time to stop in for a quick coffee this time around. I truly believe it would be awesome to sit outside in the courtyard, sampling the locally brewed beer, whilst being mesmerized by flames in the firepit.

β β β β β Great place, mussels so tasty you need more than one bowl. Friendly staff.

β β β β β Nice vibe, but the service is too slow (it took us 50 minutes to get our dishes and, I came after as I hunting for a spot to seat in a table and, just for adding another dish to our order, they really believed I was going to queue again... gosh, I do not want to make another order, I want to add something to an existing one...) and, honestly, the food is not up to the expectations (we really thought better about the mussels, which are not bad, they are good, but in Chirstchurch I can find mussels from Havelock $5/kg and they are much better... also, anything else but mussels was not that good)

β β β β β Proves to be a very popular eatery. Considering the place is further remote north of Takaka.
Food was good. The chowder could've been hotter though. It was somewhat warm when served to us.
The steamed mussels were perfect.

β β β β β After hearing great things I was slightly disappointed. The location is fantastic although it might not be so in winter. Plenty of outdoor seating.
The mussels were as expected, but I thought a little bland. I have to admit mussels aren't really my thing unless they are marinated. The fish was alright, if a little overdone and ot fresh that day. Drinks were great, their home made feijoa cider was nice and refreshing and the Captain Cook Manuka beer was lovely.
BTW, longdrops for toilets at a restaurant is not an enticement in my book!
