★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The worst place ever.
Paid for two and left after one night. The place was sloped and difficult for parking the motorhomes, cabines behind had people with music going all day and night until 10pm then the female was her phone speaker telling us her life story. The other unit was laughing and doing something until 11pm.
The pool was not safe for disable people let alone elderly as there was no second rail or proper steps to get in or out.
Internet was not possible and wasn't going to pay for more when I had two separate provides of my own.
Brown water in the bathrooms and no disable shower nor toilets. Insects everywhere also. Not small but big ones. Talked to some others campers who had left that morning, for the same reason.
Never again. Don't always go by the feedback.

Water was clean & warm.
Only problem was the steps
going down into the private area...they had no rails...which, for people like myself who have have arthritis, it was a bit
a bit of a struggle.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Whoa - was last here 30 years ago and it is much the same. A good thing! Very clean the kids had a lot of fun. Nothing too flash, but was a very fun outing for the grandchildren (aged 6 and 8)

We stayed 2 nights - pools took us back to our childhood! Old school Kiwiana styles. Lots of room for kids to splash & play, pools are a nice temperature & bathroom/shower facilities were very clean. Free showers which was awesome! Love that the pool stays open till 9pm each night. The private Ramaroa pool is well worth it too.
Only downsides were the cabin mattress (too worn & hard) & the cabin walls are very thin so you can hear everything in the rooms next door. But will definitely be returning with our poptop in the summer!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I love Opal Hot Springs. It's not real fancy like the mount hot pools, but its a really nice grass roots, with a friendly old fashioned kind of atmosphere. The price is really good and there is a motor camp with little units, so if you come from out of town you don't have to leave too early.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What a great find. 3 adults and our baby for only $18 to swim in the massive pool and enjoy a nice hot soak in the Real hot pool. The slide into the pool is great fun and was well used by us and all the others here on the day. Brought back our youth. Everything is tidy and we will bring lunch to enjoy a day here next time as there is a beautiful area for this away from the pool. Love it

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A wonderful campsite. We were only there for 1 night but would’ve loved to have stayed on. The staff were so welcoming and friendly, excellent customer service. The camp is beautifully set out and well maintained. The bathroom and kitchen facilities are basic but very clean and accessible. The pools are a real highlight and again, this public area is well kept and clean. I’d definitely recommend staying here if anyone is in the area. We were visiting Hobbiton and it was about a 15 minute drive so very convenient. 10/10!
