About NorthCare Pukete Rd
Originally from the UK, I trained in Sussex in 1990 as a registered nurse. I worked mainy in the acute medical fields including gastroenterology and neurology. In 1997 I completed midwifery training at King’s College in London and worked as a midwife until moving to New Zealand in 2003 with my large family.
Having decided to return solely to nursing, my work life since living here has been rewarding and varied - from acute emergency care, practice nursing and school nursing to sexual health, women’s health and colposcopy. I have a strong and passionate interest in women’s health and providing equitable service provision to the community. I'm proud to work with a motivated, positive and incredibly skilled, patient-centred team.
Outside of work, I enjoy meeting up with all the ex-colleagues and great friends from my varied career.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ DO NOT GO HERE unless you’d like all yours and your babies info, identification and urgent prescriptions lost to them be expected to pay more money and drag a baby out to fix THEIR screw up. Urgent phone appointment also went missed. Beware trusting the admin staff with your personal info or medications.

The doctor that was assigned to me was only interested in getting a covid test from me and the reason I went there was never addressed
I also booked a covid vaccine and when I arrived I was told I have missed my appointment and would need to rebook on line
Didn't care one bit or take into account the stress that comes with a covid vaccination

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went in 9-10-19 to book a nurses appointment for a measles vaccine for my 11 yr old daughter. The older receptionist with short blonde hair cut me off and told me rather rudely, "WELL, THEY dont have any!!" (Meaning, the nurses have no MMR vaccines). Not expecting to receive expert advice from a receptionist I was stunned. She then carried on to say that THEY only give them at 15 months & 4 years old, to which I advised her that my daughter actually did NOT receive her second MMR shot, and all the while wondering why the hell I was even having to explain myself to an ADMIN staff member. She proceeded to serve two more people - then trotted out the back with my daughter's Plunket book to discuss with a nurse who came out and explained that yes, they actually DID have the MMR vaccine and could do it immediately. So not only had the receptionist just given me false information but she had almost jeopardized my daughter's immunisations - I was fuming. The nurses here are wonderful people - namely Carla and Deborah. But Ive had the WORST service from reception and my worst doctor experience here with Dr. Saba Gul. There was a post in our neighbourhood Facebook page stating that this rude receptionist was the reason MANY people leave this practice. Today, my child's immunisations could have been jeopardized by her ignorance and was enough to send me and my family to look for a new GP practice. Worst medical centre I've EVER dealt with - besides the amazing nurses!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pukete medical has some good Drs & Nurses however Dr Alicia May Li Loh is NOT one of them.
Alicia constantly forgets scripts so you have to either book another appointment to get the medication you need.
Which costs a whole extra appointment.
Alicia doesn't seem to understand the difference between pain meds, & antidepressants, forgetting to add even basic Panadol as discussed with her, to my script.
Alicia is not very professional & I think she is unqualified to do a Drs job.
Do not go to her, & if you are unlucky enough to get lumped with her, I would seriously advise you immediately request another Dr.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not really sure why staff at medical practices can, at times, be so abrupt or rude. Having recently relocated from Auckland, I visited this practice for a consultation and, on paying, was surprised that the fee was about 30% higher than I expected. I asked if the charge was correct and the receptionist said it was, but then she added the words "it absolutely is correct" in a rude tone as if I had implied she was lying - I wasn't, I was surprised that was all. Made me feel pretty uncomfortable. Not sure I want to come back here if that's what they perceive to be 'mutual respect'.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Some of these reviews are appalling and quite frankly, incorrect and rude!
The Drs and Nurses here are so lovely. They care, they’re friendly and professional. The reception staff are accomodating and always make sure you’re being seen sooner rather than later on the triage list, which has been sooo helpful when I’ve had sick children.
Alicia and Vidya are some of the nicest Drs I’ve met and want the best for their patients. I find this practise great, especially for children.
