It all began in the nineties, originally located on Blair street until 2005 when we decided to relocate to Wellingtons busy Queens Wharf. We are regularly one of the busiest places on the waterfront.
We stake our name on serving delicious, original pizza, pasta and antipasto among other local favourites. After just one bite you will see why we are constantly humming with regulars.
The kitchen cooks all day, the drinks are poured till late and the service style is laid back and easy going, but like a well trained border collie, always ready when needed.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Friday night in level 2 lockdown is not the best time to see this place in action as I'm told that it is normally heaving. Small groups still zapped in and out for drink and food but there were a lot of empty tables and it was too cold to be outside.
Service was prompt and attentive and we were seated quickly to keep the social distancing in line. They have a reasonable drinks menu but food is all about pizza with just a few pastas and snacks to fill it out.
The pizzas are good and very filling but pretty expensive at @$25 for a medium size. I would not recommend the gluten free base as it seemed to be made of cardboard and wallpaper paste. Seriously, you can get some really good gluten free pizza bases now, but at an extra $3 this was pretty bad.
Desserts were fabulous if you want that massive sugar rush and the Jaffa tower was impressive.
At $125 for 2, this was not the cheapest dinner but it has a nice atmosphere and it's close to the CBD. In summer this is an easy place to recommend. In winter during covid 19 it was a nice night out I was happy to have, but maybe not somewhere I would rush back to.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This was honestly the best pizza I've ever had. My wife tried the Hawaiian pizza and loved it. I tried the duck pizza...FABULOUS!!!
We also had their potato wedges, which were great too. The atmosphere was wonderful and we found the staff accommodating, friendly and efficient. Located on the wharf near all the great attractions. I highly recommend One Red Dog.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great service! I love how the menus show the pizza sizes. I shared a large chicken and cranberry pizza with a friend and it was perfectly sized. I definitely recommend trying the sangria pitchers.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The restaurant experience was disappointing. We found that our food was quite overpriced for what it was, and the serving size didn’t make up for it. As I was finishing off my meal, (with a fair bit of time before the restaurant closed) my plate got taken off me half bite. The tables were sticky and not well cleaned. I also work in hospitality and know it’s rough work, but the service to customer was quite unacceptable.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great food! The lamb and chicken/cranberry pizza was delicious. The salad was just a $6 one from supermarket so ?♂️ overall 1 large pizza fed 3 of us well with drinks. Only con was overpriced food. EDIT: After thinking about it, I actually had to drop it to 3 stars. The food was seriously overpriced?
