Having been a Powershop customer for many years now, I've always had prompt and courteous dealings with this company which gives you plenty of opportunities to save on electricity costs. They notify before any price increases and don't just add a bit on without telling you. I have recommended others to become Powershop customers.

We are a two person home on low power use and 10 hour night rate. We have been Powershop since it started. We've noticed that we get more bonus offers, 10-15% off, the longer we stay with the company. Also, whenever we do a comparison with another company, Powershop always in as the cheaper option. It is good to be able to plan ahead and not be faced with a large bill at any time. If you were on a tight budget, you could buy the same amount of power each month and not have to face fluctuating bills, or large bills during winter.

Unacceptable service. So inconsistent and played us round with our bills constantly. Consumer nz rated it the most for value power company. Disappointed, would not recommend to anyone. $9 a day for power for a small 3 person household with full time workers who aren’t home a lot is unreal! Totally unacceptable!!!! We know smaller households with less people that don’t work and pay way less. We were served by Michelle and Reagan.

Overall good customer service. However the prices are way too high. For a 3 person household, I am usually charged between $450-$500 per month. When I called and asked why the bill is so high, the response was pretty much my heatpump is causing the high powebill because I use my heat pump at a high temp for 2-3 hours a night. Still though, 450 dollars is stupidly high for 2 adults and one infant baby.

Maybe I happened to call and spoke to the wrong person at the wrong time, but a bit rude. Was trying to sign up but was given 2 options to pay, either directly by bank or credit card, I said I don't want to do that and preferred to be sent a bill, as it was a temporary arrangement for my rental unit while renovations are being done (to make it liveable because the previos landlord is useless). Straightaway he just said "we'll just cut your power then", as they must grab your bank details. It wasn't explained properly to me, so oh well, I just hung up and went back to genesis. I'm sure all the nice reviews here are genuine, and I just got unlucky. It seems that they're not interested in your business unless they can grab authority of your money, so beware.

Been with powershop for years. Got my parents to switch too. Solid company. Good customer service. None of the scammy aspects that other power companies have. The power purchasing model isnt for everyone (my parents are too old for it, so I sort the power packs for them etc).

I’ve had only good experiences with power shop since signing up a year ago! The rates are cheap, the app is easy to navigate and the customer service is friendly and prompt. I switched from contact and my bills halved in the middle of winter!!

Have been with Powershop for 2 years. I live on my own and spend about $1.30 per day on power. Buy your power online or through the app, you can also monitor every aspect of your activity online/app (shop, usage, transactions etc). They have regular discount packs so just just pay as you go or buy bulk packs ($20, $50, $100 etc) if you want. Super easy to navigate and actually pretty cool having the power to control your spend. One of NZ's best and cheapest power companies. Highly recommended
