★ ★ ★ ★ ★ First time here after being to A1 Seafoods down the road several times in the past.
I think Opawa is the better of the two places and the one to visit. We had some crumbed Tarakihi which tasted fresh, and the homemade chips were cooked perfectly crisp, not oily and with a great potato flavour. The shop was very clean and the staff were friendly and polite.

I asked for my pineapple ring to be put in the sugar & cinnamon mix used for doughnuts - didn't happen plus it was super greasy. The chips were super greasy with maybe a couple of crisp ones. My crumbed tarakihi was more crumb than fish but was nice. The barest whisper of salt.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Love this fish and chip shop. The staff are really nice and the food is always great, and prepared fast. The prices here are also super reasonable. I also like that they repeat your order back to you on the phone so you know they've heard you right :)
Really recommend the fish burger here, I think its one of the best in town (and one of the cheapest!)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Awesome Food and great service, we live out of town. But definitely try make it here everytime we in Christchurch and always get the chicken nipples. Oh so yummy for my tummy and still so good reheated at home next day. Thanks to the staff and owners definitely Recommend to all, it won't disappoint you. :-)
