β β β β β Shocking - and I mean SHOCKING - experience at OPSM Lambton quay today. Was deliberately and thoroughly ignored by the customer service rep while she approached a lady that came in 10 minutes after me in a heartbeat. Must have been my jeans and shirt. I make sure to show up in a suit next time - maybe I have better luck then.

β β β β β I had to get an eye test after a terrible experience with AA on Lambton Quay. Long story. So I came to OPSM, explained the situation and even though they usually have to take bookings they squeezed me in and got it done! They were awesome. This was on Wednesday 17th June around 1-130pm.
I just wanted to make sure that the young lady at reception and the optometrist were given a big shout out! I wish Iβd gotten there names BUT I did return with some pineapple lumps and milkshake lollies as a quick thanks. They made my day!! NgΔ Mihi OPSM!!

β β β β β The staff here went above and beyond to accommodate me after I slept with my contacts and had extreme pain. Even though I had never been there before, they squeezed me in despite being fully booked and continued to accommodate me for follow-up appointments. The optometrists were extremely kind and professional; they called to consult an ophthalmologist at the hospital about my condition. I would highly suggest visiting this store!

β β β β β After some bad customer service at other optometrists around Wellington, I was pleasantly surprised with OPSM. Brad, the store manager, was very helpful, as was the optometrist who conducted the eye examination.
In general they had a great selection of frames to choose from and also offer deals to customers with a Southern Cross membership.
Highly recommended!

β β β β β Great service and I'm super happy with my glasses. I previously used Specsavers but found that my glasses didn't seem right, so I decided to try OPSM even though it's a little more expensive. I'm very glad I made that decision! I have an astigmatism in both eyes which makes getting my prescription right a little tricky, but I found that the actual eye test was more in-depth and took a little longer than what I have experienced in the past with other optometrists and now using my new lenses 3 weeks later I have noticed a huge difference. OPSM is more expensive, but in this case, I got what I paid for.

β β β β β At the start when Abbey was working there things was great. Friendly well organized staff and just overall great service.
Recently however the service has been utterly slack staff not communicating and massive mistakes being made.
First altering my frames that it no longer fit the lens. Advised to try for a week which no the lens kepted popping out. The company had to replace (which good they should) but there was no record on file about the issue making it hard explaining to the new staff there.
Then when I got my replacement they were the wrong frame colour. Advising twice I would like whati ordered I was assured this will be done. 2-3 weeks later I pop in to find out not only did no one order them but there was a note to confirm if I still wanted the black frames. What irritates me is why didn't anyone follow up why isn't a customer listened to and notes made clear and why when I call the store the Store Manager has no idea whats going on. I was advised they would be in today from another store in Wellington. The manager now has to give me a call back and its just overall worst experience I have had and this was my first frames from OPSM. Unsure if its just the store and staff fault or this is the standard when you go to OPSM.
Hopefully its all sorted but at this rate I am going to have to micro manage the situation.

β β β β β The store manager Carla provides a terrible customer experience.
From the first interaction, you can tell sheβs not there to help.
A few examples:
Calls me up a day prior my eye check to ask me if itβs ok a graduate student and a optometrist checked my eyes at the same time.I said ok because I wanted to help the student. But when I showed up it turns out it was only the student that will be doing the eye test. I had to say no.
Instead of explaining the product to you, she puts a video in front of you and expects you to watch it.
She doesnβt provide you with the full information, I only found out that I couldβve got Rayban lenses with my Rayban frames because the lenses she pushed for was straining my eyes.
When I went back to talk about the lenses straining my eyes, she asked me to wait, but all she was doing was standing there looking at what her other colleague was doing.
Even though she said she would give me a call back in a few days, I had to call up for an update. Didnβt hear from her about a week later, at that point this was getting too much for me and I felt like giving up.
Overall I would say the experience was terrible. I only gave an extra star because she tried to make it right and the final time I went back the other lady provided a better customer experience.

β β β β β Easily the most awful opsm I've been into in Wellington. They will lose their business soon undoubtedly. The reason? The staff, i suspect its the attitude of the toxic manager, flowing through to the staff. As pointed out by other reviewers , the staff there are unfriendly and unhelpful. With so many better options around, why shop in a place with such an unwelcome vibe. They don't stock a lot of the better brands here either. Avoid.
