★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great spot for exploring. Northern side is easily accessible from Otaki. The Southern side is accessible from Te Horo. There is a 4wd track from Sims Road or it’s a shortish walk from the Sims Road car park. Lots of bird life at the river mouth including some rare dotterels that nest close to the 4wd track.
