★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A lovely walk, reasonably flat and well covered for the southern part of the trail. The north part isn't as nice, so I'd really recommend just walking from the south car park, then going as far as you like and returning.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great walk, good map info at the start. Very good kid friendly walk although not appropriate for push chairs. Relatively flat, a swing bridge and other wooden "troll bridges" and then make sure you take something to feed the eels in the river. Beautiful.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Convenient and sealed access to to the southern end of the Mangaone Walkway. Does have a clean toilet available with no running water. Easy to do a nice walk through the bush along the waikanae river. Walked a good distance along the track without getting wet feet, bit was a lot of mud.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Easy walking track but be careful after heavy rain it might be slippery and muddy. Wear waterproof boots. There is a long drop toilet at the beginning of the track.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful walk from the forest towards Kaitawa scenic reserve approx 1.45 hours each way,5-6 kms one side roughly, nice and easy level of bush walk with trickling streams and lots of stops to sit and relax.Toilets are available near car park,the walkway is easily accessible and marked. Camping area located near to the stream at the beginning of the walk.
