★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Passed through her on the way to the Waitanga Treaty Grounds. Nice little beach on the Bay of Islands. Stop. Get out and stretch your legs. After a walk along the beach there is a nice café on the south end to quench your thirst and get a bite to eat.
I found giant mussel shells, empty, which if good to eat would only need two to fill a plate. I haven't seen them on any menu though.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had a great walk from Opua beach around the bays to the Paihia lookout. Passed a lot of fellow happy walkers. Great views out over the water, busy with boats zooming around.
