★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a walking tour of around1.4 km. The views from the top are stunning. Youngsters can complete this track in around 1.5 hours considering a break of 15-20mins at the top. Self doable. Don't need to book this one. Guide is not required as it's a single track and you won't get lost. Just be alert when you gets higher as the track is not too wide. It's a must do track.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful scenic hike through the ranges, lots of wildlife and noises to be heard! Top offers a good view but shrubbery and trees have almost taken over and overhang in the beat parts to see the views. Little maintenance required at top/make the clearing more open then it would be a 5 star rating!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great place for a short walk. Recommend doing the longer walk too. Few hills along the way but it is all worth it. There are parking available but would strongly suggest to come outside of busy hours since there are only a few available..

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great little walk with a decent view. We walked up for sunrise and could hear a kiwi quite close to the track. Beautiful forest with lots of bird life especially tui and piwakawaka. Disappointed to see some rubbish and a local walking their dog off the leash.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Gorgeous bush walk in central Paihia.
Well maintained track takes you through forest and passed streams. Trail is mostly shaded but it’s a good grade so bring water! Well worth the effort for stunning views out over Waitangi, the Bay of Islands and Russell.
I was out for a workout and pushed myself and made the trek up in about 30 and down in 15.
Signs inform walkers there are kiwi in the area so no dogs on the track.
No toilet and no real parking lot, trail head is at a junction in a neighborhood. The track starts 700 metres from town so easy enough to park there.
