★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had lunch there today, my daughter got her hamburger first and it was cold, about 10mins later my husband’s fish and chips came and it was over cooked,
then we had to ask where mine was and they didn’t see it so had to wait even longer for mine.
No apology just it will be there shortly. When I finally got it still no apology. Had to rush through it and get going. Never go there again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Food was delicious although it took 40mins from ordering to getting it. The Cafe was clean and very busy as it was Mothers day. Staff lacked some customer service skills to make customers feel welcomed.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My wife and myself went to Piccalo cafe for a quick bite. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by warm and friendly service. We immediately felt comfortable. We love places where the menu is uncomplicated and have good options for both Keto and vegetarian. The staff is knowledgeable about coffee and product. We ordered a panini and Stuffed kumara with salad. The place was very busy, still we received our food order within 10 minutes. We choose to sit outside as it was sunny. The tables were clean and tidy. This café have good outdoor and indoor seating. The food here is exceptional, very tasty and well prepared. Great staff, great owner, great coffee. The atmosphere was cosy and nice, certainly my absolute favorite spot as a local.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I understand the short staffing issues, but meals we dripped to the table, meaning I was finished my meal before my partners even arrived. The waitress asked what table number we were, the toilet didn't flush, all in all it was a little disappointed after having a great meal there another time. I really hope these issues are only temporary.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We wanted to share our breakfast so asked for two spare plates. They served us two separate meals and both were huge! More like two meals than half each by a long way. What a nice touch and thank you. Food was outstanding as was the services. Well done team ? definitely recommend this Cafe.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 9 golfers went for breakfast for 5 consecutive days. We went back because the service was excellent and the coffees and food came out in quick time. The presentation was simple but excellent. We would highly recomend Piccolo to other golfing groups in Taupo.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The best food we had while in Taupo! The shakshuka was incredible, highly recommend this. The chef's special french toast was also amazing. Generous portion sizes and price for the quality of food we received. The staff were very friendly with quick service. A must stop for anyone!
