★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice shelter or emergency hut at the tip of the hill. Kokako are often heard near to the hut in the morning. It is known to be a little smelly inside though.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Basic site with two long drop toilets. There is now a veranda to the hut. I remember when there weren't any mattresses in the hut either. Room for tents and, among the trees, plenty options for hammocks.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Started raining as I got there! Everything was clean and tidy, inside smelled like an old store room at my parents house (which I really like) saw a Kokako flying down the road in front of me! Fair old schlepp out here but quite nice, will go back with a sleeping bag one day.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Basic campsite in a clearing. Old hut with two bunks. Bring your tent. No fancy view, but lots of birds. Small grass area next to hut fits a few tents. Water either rainwater (via roof hut) or small stream close to campsite.
