★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I recently had to replace a door handle unit that was 15 hyears old. Others I approached told me that they didn't stock it and that was as far as they would go. When I went to Placemakes, they did some researcxh for me and found that it was still being manufactured and could be ordered. TYnhey ordered it for me, it arrived in two working days, and it fitted perfectly. Polite and obliging staff. It will be my first port of call next time I am looking for hardware.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sadly when you order online they (at Napier branch) have no clue you have an order. So, when you go down and see them in person, you are let down once more. 2 gates, no signage to where to go. Have to walk around the building to find an entrance to them be told it the wrong door. ??
Finally, inside the building to talk to a random who has no acknowledgement that you ARE in fact a customer, give them the order number, they then tell me the number doesnt exist and I've ordered from another shop. I show them the order number again using screen shot, they look up the Product and give me grief for only buying a small yet a very very important product. The scan it and then tried to charge me again.
I told them I have already, they dont believe me, getting heated at this point, so, again I showed them my screenshot.
At the end of the day, I give them a star for existing but guys, come on, your communication between the online orders and you are so lost in transaction not to mention the head office who had no clue you had an order at all.
You maybe cheaper than Mitre 10 but that gives you no excuse to be lazy!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's my local. With Bunnings gone to Hastings and closing my account without notice. Several no stock, incorrect stock and lack of service in the trade department, I gave PlaceMakers another try. Staff have been very helpful and they have the wood I needed in stock. I've been back and will probably open an account their soon.
